Types of the pilot

Qualification Of The Pilot

One Can opt Pilot As A Profession In India With Two Paths If They Satisfy The Eligibility Criteria:-

First Path

You can become a commercial pilot by clearing a Civil Aviation exam which is conducted by Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA). The science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are taken as compulsory Even if you did not study Physics and Mathematics in your higher secondary, it is not an issue.

You can produce the certificates from the National Institute of Open Schooling for these two subjects. The examination is conducted in three phases: written exam, medical tests, and an interview.

The most important qualification for appearing this exam is that you need to pass 12th std with at least 50%. The age criteria for Student Pilot License is 16 years whereas for Private Pilot License and  Commercial Pilot License are 17 years and 18 years respectively.

Indian Defence Forces(Air Force) You Can Join Indian Air Force As Pilot In Multiple Manners With The Following Qualification Requirements.

NDA Entry

  • Minimum age: 16 and half years
  • Maximum age: 19 years
  • Only male candidates can apply
  • Should have 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics

CDSE Entry

  • Male graduates in any discipline from recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level
  • Minimum age: 19 years
  • Maximum age: 23 years

AFCAT Entry

  • Same as CDS
  • They have two entries: SSC & PC
  • SSC: Short Service Commission
  • PC: Permanent Commission
  • Under SSC, females can also apply and you cannot serve under this scheme for more than 14 years

NCC Entry

  • You should hold NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate
  • Only male candidates
  • Unmarried
  • Minimum age: 19 years

Indian Air Force

The salaries of Indian Air Force pilots are proportionate to that specified by the wage boards of the Ministry of Defence and the Indian Armed Forces.   • Courier Flight: Captain/Pilot in Command -Rs.200,000 – 325,000 per month and First Officer/Co-Pilot – Rs 90,000-150,000 per month.

Commercial Pilot Training In India

Indian Commercial pilot has to go through the course offers 200 hours of flying training. The course duration is of 8-10 months, it offers solo/dual, general flying, circuit & landing sorties. Instruments and cross-country flights, route checks, skill tests, and night flying rating as per DGCA requirement.   • Falcon Aviation located in Uttar Pradesh, Faizabad and is presently the cheapest flying school in India which only cost 19 lakhs, with CPL and multi-engine rating. The duration of the course is quite long. Though they have quite multiple planes( 8 planes) were only 12–13 students are presently studying but the problem is the flying is slow there and also it lacks “quality” flying instructors.

Name Of Indian Institute That Pursuing The Course

NFTI is located at Gondia in Maharashtra and is also sometimes referred to as CAE Oxford Aviation Academy Gondia. NFTI trains all the candidates on a modern training fleet of DA 42 and DA 40.   • Madhya Pradesh Flying Club (MPFC): Madhya Pradesh Flying Club(MPFC) came into existence in the year 1951. MPFC maintained and operated aircraft belonging to the MP government till 1982. MPFC consists of multi-engine six-seater aircraft P-68C-TC and Baron G58 and has a fleet of Cessna -152/A, Cessna -172R for training the aspiring pilots
  • Ahmedabad Aviation & Aeronautics Ltd. (AAA): Ahmedabad Aviation & Aeronautics Ltd (AAA) was established in 1994. This flying school operates from its own hangars at SV Patel International Airport Ahmedabad and Mehsana Airfield. Ahmedabad Aviation & Aeronautics Ltd. presently has five single-engine aircraft Cessna 172/ Cessna 152 and one single or multiengine flight simulator. AAA presently has four ground instructors and five flight instructors for the batch of 70 students.
  • Bombay Flying Club: Bombay Flying Club is been operating since 1928. The Bombay Flying Club is affiliated to DGCA and Mumbai University. Mr. JRD Tata, the father of aviation in India obtained his pilot license in February 1929 from this flying school. This club has a fleet of Cessna 152A, PIPER PA18, Cessna 172, Cessna172R (glass cockpit-like airlines aircraft cockpit)-Single Engine & Seneca that is the twin-engine aircraft. Bombay Flying Club school offers a Bachelor’s of Science in Aviation or Aeronautics degree, apart from this the interested candidates can even receive training in cabin crew training and aircraft maintenance engineering. DSE Entry To The Air Force
